Finally, Apple has released the Leopard

Apple had finally released the latest OS X 10.5 Friday, Oct 26 at 6pm. Since the release of Tiger, Apple is finally ready to unleash Leopard upon the world.

The Apple online store is taking pre-orders as of yesterday. Anyone who has purchased a qualifying Mac since October 1st will be able to obtain the updated OS for only $9.95 in shipping.

Below are the major features.

  • Favorites desktop image.
  • New file stacks at fingertips for a stunning, clutter-free workspace.
  • Finder – browse files like browsing music with cover flow.
  • Quick look. Browse, play, view & play thru files without opening them.

Others like Time machine, Mail, iChat, Spaces, Safari browser, Parental guide and Boot camp features. Later I will discuss on Leopard vs Vista and how do they will compete to each other.
