The Wii outsold PS3 and Xbox 360

Nintendo’s Wii - Xbox 360
- PS3
A good start for Nintendo’s Wii for January. The Nintendo’s Wii continues to sell at a torrid place, outselling the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3. Market research firm NPD Group reports that consumers bought 436,000 Wii, while Xbox 360 sold 294,000 units, followed by PlayStation 3 with 244,000.
Nintendo is crediting much of its success to the broad appeal of Wii compared to machines from Microsoft and Sony. “I do think that we’re selling to additional and different customers,†said Perrin Kaplan, VP marketing for Nintendo. “We’ve had an incredibly healthy start and we think there’s going to be a pretty long tail on this product.â€- as DailyTech reported.
At the moment, many commenters give the top ranking to Nintendo’s Wii, while Xbox 360 in 2nd place and PS3 the 3rd place. I believe that Microsoft was sure to bring down the price of Xbox 360, not due to PS3 but because thoseWii’s are cranking - Ron West.
For Games comparison, Reuters reported - Xbox’s “Lost Planet: Extreme Condition,” a game from Capcom in which players fight aliens across an icy world was sold 329,000 copies. The “Lost Planet” was one of three games for the Xbox 360 that made the top 10. The other two being Microsoft’s “Gears of War
” at No. 3 and French publisher Ubisoft’s “Tom Clancy’s Rainbow Six: Vegas” at No. 9.
Nintendo had four games in the top 10. Two for the Wii, one for its DS handheld and one for its last-generation console, the Gamecube.
The PS3 had one game, “Resistance: Fall of Man,” at No. 8, and PlayStation 2 placed two titles, a guitar simulator and a football game, at No. 3 and No. 6.

I am Xbox 360 owner. I love to play Microsoft’s Gears of Wars game. It is damn great game and I feel that Xbox 360 is the best game console ever on earth!

KeMatte, I also addicted to that Game. It was awesome! But the way consumer evaluates and compares among three console was fairly accepted and logic. It is good for other competitor to cranking each others. Who knows the price of Xbox 360 live will reducing fairly..

Yes im agree with u. Gears Of War for me is the killer game in Xbox 360. Wii have more console sole this month because the console itself is cheaper and the innovative controller they did. Just wait for Halo 3 arrive, xbox 360 will be the champ again.
If im not mistaken x360 will be introduced their own innovative controller with trackball same like pc mouse function all in one controller. Hope this time we can play GOW easy than ever.

But accroding to vgcharts (http://www.vgcharts.org/ngwars.php), Xbox 360 is the clear winner between these 3 consoles, 9.28million for x360, 5million for Wii and 1.88million for PS3 sold so far. These are the overall console sold around the world.

A good sign. Instead Xbox 360 is really up to high competition!
