What is about the new Nokia N97?

From the picture it give a perception. From what I saw, the outer design is similar to other brand of Smart Phone out there, that is Pocket PC phone namely Sony Ericsson Xperia X1 and Samsung Omnia. It is again can be said that they are competing each other and try to capture own market segment. While Nokia N97 is based on Symbian platform, both Xperia and Omnia are based on Microsoft Mobile 6.1 and the only different is Omnia do not come with slider keyboard.

As you can see from the above picture, Nokia N97 comes with a QWERTY-slider keyboard and a tilting touchable widescreen with a 16:9 aspect ratio and a resolution of 640 x 360 pixels, standard Symbian S60 OS with a UI improved for touch input. What is totally new in this Nokia N97 is all about the first touch-sensitive Nseries device, that will be entering a competitive market of touch-sensitive multimedia smartphones.
How well the Symbian S60 5th Edition OS has been modified for touch-sentitive, and how well the hardware performs to provide a responsive experience? Is it fair to compare to Apple iPhone well responsive touch screen? From my experience with Omnia and Xperia X1, the touch screen responsiveness for Microsoft Mobile is quite good and well done, but yet it is lower compared to Apple iPhone. Nokia N97 and both Omnia and Xperia X1 have widgets that can be dragged around on the home screen and it do response quickly. However, until I review and try it myself then it will bring a different and for now I will retain my comments.
